Helping young people feel safe, feel heard and feel hopeful for their future

How we help

Mentoring Plus supports young people in Bath & NE Somerset who are facing challenges. We help 5-25 year olds feel connected through award-winning mentoring schemes, youth clubs and inspiring activities programmes in our community.

Shoulder to shoulder - our young people celebrate 25 years of Mentoring Plus

Our young people say it best! Mentees created this short film to celebrate 25 years of mentors standing shoulder to shoulder with young people. Three minutes of pure gold...

Become a mentor

Our volunteer mentors come from all walks of life, all age groups (over 21) and all life experiences. They are all kind, reliable, committed to a year-long mentoring relationship, and enjoy getting out and about with their mentee, following the young person’s interests and trying new things around our county. We always need our next cohort of mentors and provide full training at intervals throughout the year.

Learn new skills

As well as the rewards of making a difference to a young person needing support, volunteer mentors tell us they have learned confidence, listening and communications skills, self-knowledge and lots about what’s going on in our community. Lots return to mentor again, and some make a career change as a result.

Thank you to all our runners

What a fantastic day we had Bath Half Marathon on Sunday. Thank you to our runners who were all amazing, our staff volunteers who helped out on the day in the charity hall, Sue from No Regrets Running Bath and everybody that came by our stand for a cup of tea and a chat.

One of our mentors ran the entire race in a frog costume, thanks Alan you were amazing!

We will have a few charity places in the March 2024 Bath Half, if your interested in a place get in touch.

Join us for our AGM on Monday 27th November, 6.30pm at Riverside Youth Hub

How can we help young people thrive in education? What works? What can we do alongside schools to help young people cope within them? That’s our theme at this year’s Mentoring Plus AGM with speakers and discussions. If you have children and teens at school, if you’re a school staff member, a fellow professional, a supporter of our work or just interested in young people’s wellbeing, we want you to join the conversation.
